Closing Cermonies

The Olympics are over and now, in recompense, I must watch the entire Pride and Prejudice miniseries with my wife. It might be worth it. (And if we were watching a miniseries based on Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, it would definitely be worth it...)

Highlights included -

1. Shawn White and the half pipe gold medal. When you are jumping out of the pipe five or six FEET higher than your closest competitor, you are obviously doing something right. And that trick at the end...

2. That horrible Canadian beat poet during the Opening Ceremony.

3. William Shatner during the Closing Ceremony. WTF?

4. I love Snowboard Cross and Skicross. Awesome. Or as J_ always says, "Always with the G**dam Ice Skating!"

5. Teaching my daughters about the sports of the Winter Olympics. L_ cried during the closing ceremonies.

Winter Olympics

Began watching it with the fam yesterday. Love the fact that you get to see sports there that you see nowhere else - luge, curling, biathlon, etc. I'm watching the biathlon today, and I can see how it may have started - off to war my comrades! Bring your guns and your skis...

I want to get a curling stone and put it on my coffee table as a conversation piece.
